The Denver Post reported this morning that the BP oil spill has officially become the biggest in history, surpassing the enormity of another spill 30 years ago.
Every gallon of crude oil that leaks into the Gulf of Mexico, stains southern beaches, and kills wildlife proves again the need for a new, more responsible energy policy for the United States.

Oil Spills in Colorado
If you’re like me, you cannot escape tales of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. You’ve seen the pictures of animals covered in oil, watched a live-cam helplessly as the oil gushes into the sea and wondered how the heck something like this could happen.
In today’s Denver Post, we see these oil spills are not just happening in the Gulf; they are happening across Colorado. In the last 2 ½ years there have been over 1,000 spills totaling 5.3 million gallons of drilling liquids and oil dumped right here in Colorado!
