Town Hall Events: Why They Matter

On Saturday, February 9, some 120 persons gathered in the Carnegie Room in Penrose Library for a Town Hall meeting, a favorite arena of authors, educators, and political leaders.
While most were constituents from HD-17 & 18, the audience included city and county leaders, educators, business people, attorneys, and “townie” activists of all stripes. On this occasion, people were anxious to meet Pete Lee and Tony Exum and hear them explain their respective legislative agendas and respond to questions.

Tony Exum–Keeping in Touch with House District 17 Voters

After his successful election, this would be Tony’s first Town Hall meeting. He was feeling a little nervous, “I can’t wait until May 8,” he said. “And why is that?” a supporter asked. Tony replied, “That’s when the legislative session is over.”
This frank admission set the tone as the meeting got underway on Saturday, January 26 at the Sand Creek Library. The turnout was better than expected, many excited supporters, some just curious, and others wanting to know his position on key issues.

John Morris for County Commissioner 3
In a few days, I will be mailing a message to all of the Independent Voter households in Commissioner District #3. I have been thinking long and hard about what I have to offer these voters that come from such diverse backgrounds and political ideologies. I have decided to include the following passage from my Website because I strongly believe that county leadership needs to add transparency and diversity to the halls of county government
Please go to my website at www.VoteJohnMorris.com for additional details about these and other issues.
